Word has it that it was not popular at first, but now it seems that kids of all ages are finding it has just the right mix of humor and skill. When it comes to finding easy pictures to draw, that you know your students will love – you can’t do much better than an Among Us tutorial.
At first glance, the bodies seemed so simple that I thought would be hard to turn them into any kind of a meaningful drawing project. After seeing all the colored variations of them though, I realized a very basic color shading lesson could be applied. Their two tone look adds so much to their character, and it’s really not hard to do.

In a perfect world, students could use quality markers and add layers to get the simple shadows shown. Not to worry though, a simple lesson about shading can still happen with crayons, like I used in all my samples here.
The solution? Teach students about analogous colors (those that are next to each other on the color wheel) and have them color their character with two of the same shade. Example: light red + dark red, light yellow + dark yellow, light green + dark green, and so on. The only catch may be in finding two shades of gray. I found my light one in Crayola and my dark one in Prang, but using different pressure with one color would work too.

1. Begin the Among Us Imposter outline by drawing a circle. Then, extend a line from it. This will become the “eye” or face shield of the Imposter.

3. Draw a curved line from the base of the head. At its end, draw a “U” or “J” shaped line. This forms the body and one of the imposter’s legs.
4. Draw another curved line overlapping the side of the “U, ” and then another “U” shaped line beside it. This forms the cartoon character’s remaining leg.
5. Draw two curved lines, one enclosing the side of the body and another extending from the back of the head. This begins the Imposter’s backpack.

6. Finish enclosing the backpack, using a curved line. Then, enclose two triangular teeth along the top of the imposter’s open mouth.

9. Complete your Among Us Imposter outline by drawing another curved line roughly parallel to the previous line. Allow them to meet at a sharp point, enclosing the tongue.
